===========

The fact that for the Volunteer Corps and the Reserve there

are only spring bayonets, 2 racques and 2 sets of pads has made it impossible to make any real progress in instruction in bayonet

fighting.

Instruction in street fighting has proved impracticable owing

to the risk of alarming the native population.
